What the work involves
Most hardware is straightforward to install and easy to get slightly wrong in ways that only show up later: a drive that works but is running well below what it should, or a component that is fitted but never actually enabled.
The work is fitting it, confirming the machine is genuinely using it, updating whatever drivers it needs, and taking the old hardware out cleanly rather than leaving it half-connected.
Where an upgrade is meant to fix a speed problem, it is worth checking that the hardware is the actual bottleneck first. Sometimes it is not, and that is cheaper to find out beforehand.
This is on-site work by nature. It needs hands on the machine.

- $35 on-site fee in the local area. There is no on-site fee for work done remotely.
Common questions
- Will more memory make my computer faster?
- It depends entirely on why it is slow. Memory helps a machine that runs out of it; it does nothing for a failing drive or a software problem. Worth checking before buying.
- Can you take the old hardware away?
- Ask when we are there. If a drive is leaving, raise wiping it first. There is usually more on it than people expect.
