Phone and computer, in sync
Calendar, contacts, and photos in both places, and a phone that is actually backed up somewhere.
Signs you need this
- A calendar that is right on the phone and wrong on the computer
- Contacts that exist in one place only
- Years of photos on a phone and nowhere else
- A phone that has never been backed up
- A new phone, and no confidence the old one's contents will survive the switch
What the work involves
Most of this is a question of which account things are actually stored in. Contacts and calendars can end up split across several accounts on the same phone, which is why some of them sync and some do not.
Sorting it out means working out where each thing currently lives, consolidating it somewhere sensible, and making sure both devices are pointed at the same place.
Phone backups matter more than most people plan for. A phone is the single most likely thing you own to be dropped, soaked, or stolen, and it usually has the photos on it.
Usually remote, and usually quick.
In short
Need your calendar to sync between your computer and your phone? How about just backing up your phone information onto the computer. Let us set that up, and show you how to use it.

Common questions
- Does this work for both iPhone and Android?
- Yes. The accounts and settings differ but the problem is the same one.
- I am switching between iPhone and Android. Will I lose things?
- Contacts, calendars, and photos generally move across. Purchased apps and some app data do not, and it is better to know which before you switch than after.
